Staffs celebrated 19th birthday of “May”, the sea otter.

“May”, the sea otter turned 19 on 9th May, and staffs served a gorgeous ice-cake with her favorite snow crab on top of it.

Although her age would be classified as “old”, her appetite doesn’t seem to wane.

We all hope she will live up to 20-plus years like “Potato”, her mother, who passed away at the age of 25.

As one of the only two aquariums housing sea otters in Japan, we will be committed in conservation of the specie and incessant improvement of their wellness at in-captive environment.
